Ever have an oops moment? Miss Oops to the rescue

Do you ever wish you could instantly solve your beauty oops? What's a gal to do when she's wearing her fave low-ride jeans and when she goes to sit down with her hot date, all her BUMmy business is showing? Well that's we're Miss Oops come in. Miss Oops, the label coveted by all the Hollywood starlets, has arrived to fashionENVY to save the day. Jaks, one of their signature fabulous items, is designed to be a lacey go-between to be placed under the hem of your top and over the top of your jeans. That way it looks like you're wearing a lacy cami underneath your top (without a complete top underneath). So when you go to sit, Jaks got you covered, literally! It's genius! But Miss Oops' brilliance doesn't end there! Stop in and check out their Boob Tops (when you have those plunging necklines, but need a little something underneath) and their fab skincare products. Their hand, neck and foot cream are out of this world!

Fashion Art Addiction Part Deux-featured artist Jessica Durrant

Last week I had a FAB moment with a customer who literally fell in love with Lucy Barnes and her Lottie Frank Collection. It's because of these moments that I'm so excited to open my shop every day. The customer, let's call her by the alias Lucy 2, was so excited to find fabulous fashion art in the DC area and brought various Lottie Frank collectibles. Maybe it's the fun and bold colors Lucy uses, but her art is definitely chic and fabulous-perfect for the washingtonian fashionista.
So is the art by our second featured artist, Virginia native Jessica Durrant. Her art varies from colorful landscapes of Italy and France to charming, feminine pieces combining the essence of women and fashion. It's hard not to fall in love with Jessica's works for a variety of reasons: her use of media which varies from charcoal to watercolor, the bright, whimsical color combinations and the classic, beloved simplicity of her subjects. Jessica's love for fashion and art is beautifully obvious. So much so, that we commissioned her to do a bold painting for our seating area! Come and take a look, and see which of Jessica's pieces excite you most!

Secret (art ) obsession

In my quest to make fashionENVY all fashion/all chic/all the time, I scoured the world in search of art that speaks to that concept. I came across UK artist Lucy Claydon who's eclectic mix of style, color, funk and feminintiy made me love life even more. You see I am obsessed with fashion art and illustration-the modernity, the fashion focal point, the message of beauty. We are so happy to be the only boutique not only in the Alexandria area carrying her art, but in the entire country. Come in and see her talent captured on stationary and wall art! Here's her site http://www.lottie-frank.co.uk.
Lucy is only one artist you can find @ fashionENVY. Next week..another artist we feature with local roots!

here's to Spring cleaning...and organizing in style

Back in a past life, I would misplace everything. That was before I found out the secret to organization: everything has its place. That's why I absolutely love Glam. They're stylish, organizational accesories. Thanks to them, gone are the days where you'd spend countless time searching your home head to toe for the last purse you used. Or those days you'd arrive to work only to remember that the documents you were working on the night before are still at home. With Glam, you'll be stylishly organized. Check out what we have to help you keep disorganization at bay. Among the glam products you'll find at fashionENVY, Glam's purse hanger (it's bad luck to ever set your purse on the floor :-) FYI) and 2GB flash drive.
